Board of Directors Election and Last Week of Summer Clinics
Hello everyone.
Tuesday is the last day to submit your name for the Annual Board of Directors election. Ballots will be sent out via email on Wednesday, July 20th along with the Notice of the Annual Board Meeting. If you are interested in being on the ballot, please click here to send an email.
Looks like this will be the last week of the Summer Clinics. The county needs to close the fields for maintenance before the Fall Season begins in August. See below for this week’s schedule and please note the change to the Majors clinic.
Tuesday:
Coach Pitch on field 4 and Majors on field 6…both at 6.30pm
Wednesday:
Tee ball on field 7 and Minors 9 Year olds on field 5…both at 6pm
Thursday:
Coach Pitch on field 4, Minors 10 Year olds on field 6 and Majors on field 6…all at 6.30pm
Friday:
Majors on field 6 at 6.30pm.

Hello. It rained a bit at the fields but as of 6.40pm the games should be starting on time as should the 9′s Minors clinic at 7pm.

Successful District 7 Spring 2011 Invitational
The District 7 Spring 2011 Invitational was a rather successful tournament for The WBLL this year. To summarize the teams that placed in this year’s tournament,
Coach Pitch All Stars – District 7 Champions
9U All Stars – District 7 Runners Up
10U All Stars – District 7 3rd Place
Juniors Strong Team – District 7 Champions
Congratulations to all players, volunteers and parents for these teams…as well as the Majors Strong Team who participated in the Strong Team Tournament.

District 7 Spring 2011 Invitational Tournament
Hello everyone.
On Tuesday the District 7 Spring 2011 Invitational Tournament starts across the county. The WBLL has several teams participating in this tournament. Games for WBLL teams will be played at the West Boynton Park fields as well as fields and parks across the county. The WBLL Teams Participating in this tournament are as follows:
- Coach Pitch All Stars
- 9 Year Old All Stars
- 10 Year Old All Stars
- Majors Strong Team (Carolina Property Management)
- Juniors Strong Team (all Juniors teams though the Cobras Baseball Camp team did have to forfeit one game due to end of school festivities which then eliminated them from the tournament)

Championship Friday – Dance Partners Have Been Set
The final chapter of the Spring 2011 Season at WBLL is upon us. After all the practices, regular season games and post season tournament games…it now comes down to two teams in each division vying for the Spring 2011 WBLL Post Season Tournament Championships.
Tonight at the fields all four championship games will be played. The games are listed below:
Tee Ball Championship Game – Field 7 @ 6pm
Grandscapes vs. Power, McNalis Torres & Teebagy
Coach Pitch Championship Game – Field 4 @ 6.30pm
Ace Chem Dry vs. Mama Mia Trattoria
Minors Championship Game – Field 5 @ 7pm*
Rothman Chiropractic vs. Merrill Lynch
Majors Championship Game – Field 6 @ 7.30pm*
Senior Helpers vs. Carolina Property Management
*The Minors and Majors tournaments are double elimination tournaments…so if the home teams (listed second) lose…there will be another game on Saturday.
The games have staggered starts so the start and ending of games (hopefully) will not overlap each other. This should allow those who choose to come out and spend the last Friday of the Spring 2011 Season at the park to see some pretty good baseball.
It should be a nice night at the park so swing by and support the players of your league.
District 7 All Star Teams Announced
With the close of the Regular Season nearly upon us….it’s nearly time for All Star Season.
Earlier this week the WBLL All Star teams who will be participating in the District 7 (Palm Beach County) were announced.

All Star tournaments will start right before or right after Memorial Day Weekend.
Some games will be played at West Boynton Park and hopefully you will be able to come out and support those teams who will be representing the WBLL.
Coach Pitch All Star Tryouts and Minors/Majors Practices Tonight
Hello all.
Just a reminder that Coach Pitch All Star Tryouts are taking
place today at 6pm on field 6. Invited players and parents
should plan on being there between 5.30pm and 5.45pm to allow
for sign ins and player warm ups.
If all goes well tonight (i.e. no rain, see below), all tryouts
should be completed by 9pm. Players will typically do fielding
drills (pop flies, grounders, throwing and catching) first
followed up by batting. Once a player has batted, they are
typically free to leave and you are free to officially begin
your weekend!
However…not to rain (doh!) on everyone’s parade…yet. But
looking at the radar all it’s looking a bit “soupy” today. And
the motion of the rain to the west of our area appears to be
heading east. With the practices for the Coach Pitch All Star
team set to start right after the WBLL Post Season
Tournament…getting the tryouts completed tonight is really
desired.
So it it’s raining tonight, please be patient. Obviously if
it’s raining cats and dogs with no let up in sight with the
fields in a really poor condition and/or if there’s lightning in
the area a Plan B will have to be hatched.
Best bet to get updates on the field conditions after 5.30pm is
to check the league web site at www.wbll.us.

Fields are OPEN tonight
Hi all.
Reports from the fields as of 4pm today are that the fields are dry and
playable.
If anything changes and gets to me, I will update the site.
