Make up Evaluations, registration and managers
Hello everyone. A bit chilly on Saturday for the evaluations but it could have been 96 degrees and 450% humidity, which it will be in a month or so anyways.
There will be a make up evaluation session on Saturday, January 21st. No times yet but they will be forthcoming soon and will be shared.
Registration continues but not online. The league will do its beat to keep players on a team to 12 or less. To do that registration at this point has to be monitored. If you still need to register, you should send an email to Gail Mootz.
Managers…..they are needed. All of this evaluation stuff….soon there will be talk of Opening Day (perhaps big change this year……hmmm?)….and talk of practice and games. But it all cannot happen without team managers. WBLL needs a few…..in the Coach Pitch and Minors divisions. Reach out to Josh Strikowski for
Thanks a have a great day.

Prospective managers, before you throw your name into the hat(s), please take into consideration that the District Tournament teams will begin practice either right before or right after Memorial Day Weekend. You need to plan on your full participation lasting through the middle to latter half of June.
For the International Tournaments, practices will begin in the middle of June and games can last will into July…perhaps even longer. So please plan on your full participation during those times.
Voting for All Star Managers (and Players…9 year olds and up) will be in the next few weeks.
Coaching Clinics and Benik Baseball Camp
Hello everyone.
Managers and coaches in the Coach Pitch, Minors and Majors…you have one more chance to attend the required on-the field clinic. That last chance is this Saturday at 3.30pm.
Tuesday night’s clinic was run by BJ Benik of Benik Baseball. For those manages and coaches who need to attend Saturday’s clinic, you will need your glove. BJ did a great job during Tuesday’s clinic by hitting (intended pun) many facets of the skills of baseball as well as showing drills you can do with your players and kids.
Speaking of Benik Baseball…BJ and the folks at Benik Baseball will be having a Hitting Clinic this coming Monday, February 21st. Yes, believe it or not, it’s yet another day off of school for the kids with Spring Break looming around the corner.
With the baseball season underway you can take this opportunity to improve on your player’s skills. This Hitting Camp will be held at Olympia Park in Wellington from 9am to 3 pm. Typical one day camps cover all aspects of baseball, but this coming Monday Benik will focus predominately on hitting. Benik Baseball’s goal is for each athlete to maximize quality swings in the morning, and put them into game situations in the afternoon.
The cost of this Hitting Camp is $45 for the day. Sign up early and take $5 off. Benik Baseball will also provide 2 pieces of pizza and a water for an additional $5.
Please have the players wear baseball pants and pack their gloves, helmets, batting gloves, and a hat. Please reserve your spot by calling 561-434-0080. See you Monday the 21st.
Thanks!
