Divisions

Challenger Division

This division is for special needs players ages 4 - 18. Players get to have the experience of being on the field. This division teaches social skills, character, team building and being active.

All players will have their own buddy from West Boynton Little League or from the Park Vista High School Baseball team to assist in the field or at the plate as desired.

No baseball experience necessary.

Tee Ball Division

Often a family’s first introduction to Little League®, providing a Tee Ball experience that is grounded in fun, fitness, and fundamentals is key to growing a child’s love for the game. In Tee Ball players learn to hit a ball of a batting tee, run the bases and learn field positions.

Coach Pitch Division

This division serves as our starting point for young players entering baseball. In this program, coaches focus on throwing, fielding & hitting fundamentals and mechanics. During games, coaches live pitch up to 6-balls to every batter until a hit, 6-pitches or an out is recorded.

Minors Division

A young players first introduction to player pitching instead of a coach pitching the baseball. In this program coaches focus on throwing, fielding & hitting and more advanced playing techniques and mechanics.

Majors Division

The Little League Baseball Division (also known as the Major Division) is for boys and girls ages 9 -12.
Regular season players in the Little League Baseball Major Division have the opportunity to dual roster, meaning he/she can play in the Little League Major Baseball Division and Intermediate 50/70 Division during the same season. Achieving tournament eligibility is possible in either division, but a player must choose one division of play to participate in during the tournament season.

The culmination of the International Tournament is the Little League Baseball World Series, featuring teams from around the world. All expenses for the teams advancing to the World Series (travel, meals and housing) are paid by Little League International.

Parents are strongly encouraged to become involved in Little League. After completing a Little League volunteer application and passing a required national background check, parents may become involved in practices, and be eligible as coaches, managers, umpires, local league board members and other volunteer positions within the league.

Intermediate Division

Intermediate Baseball, known as 50-70 Baseball in some circles, utilizes a modified baseball field using a 50-foot pitching distance and 70-foot base paths. This division is structured for league age 11-13 year olds and offers a more competitive level of baseball. Players learn advanced skills and follow rules that are closer to conventional baseball, such as leading off & stealing bases, pickoff attempts, balks, allowing an on deck batter, etc.

Seniors Division

The Senior League Baseball Division is for boys and girls 13-16 years old, using a conventional 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches.
